Mercedes-Benz Leaks 2013 CLS63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz Leaks 2013 CLS63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz’s German consumer site has popped out—that is to say leaked—a couple of photos and a few details concerning the CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake. [The info has since been pulled.] The early debut of the AMG version of the coupe/wagon/whatever comes hot on the heels of the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake‘s official launch last week. If you’re a glutton for punishment, we encourage you to keep reading.

We’ve anticipated that the Brake would get a dose of Affalterbach-ian awesome for a while: Check out CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake spy photos here, and a thinly veiled example posing for an anniversary photo shoot here.

Like its hatchless sibling, the CLS63 AMG sedan, the AMG Shooting Brake will pack a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 good for 518 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque—or 550 hp and 590 lb-ft with the optional Performance pack. Also like the standard CLS63 (and various other AMG cars), the transmission will be the company’s seven-speed Speedshift automatic, which replaces the traditional torque converter with computer-controlled clutch. Much of the rest of the car will be identical to the regular Brake.

The standard CLS Shooting Brake won’t make it to the U.S., so it would take an epic miracle for us to get our hands on this version. At least we can still order the fantastically wacky E63 AMG wagon—hallelujah for that. Tags: Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake.
